EVAPORATIVE COOLERS

They differ from evaporative towers in the use of a heat exchange battery for the primary process fluid.

Having a machine with the process fluid inside a heat exchange coil allows the primary fluid not to be “dirtied” by sediments or microparticles present in the water. The presence of the heat exchange coil also makes it possible to use glycolised process water where the system requires it.

Key points for choosing an evaporative cooler instead of an evaporative tower:

The process fluid flows through a heat exchanger coil: the fluid is not contaminated by particles in the water or by atmospheric agents.

Glycolated fluids can be used safely thanks to the use of the heat exchange coil

The units can operate in dry mode in sub-zero winter conditions, without recirculating water and only with the fans running.

CONSTRUCTION FEATURES

RAPX-type machines, evaporative condensers with EC axial fans, are built and assembled in accordance with our ISO 9001 certified quality system.

STRUCTURE & ASSEMBLY

The standard unit is constructed of panels made of Magnelis® type ZM310 (steel, zinc, aluminum, magnesium) to provide maximum surface protection comparable to a galvanized sheet with more than 1000 g/m2 zinc. The individual panels, after the cutting and bending stage, are assembled with stainless steel hardware AISI 304 (A2-70) on request AISI 316 (A4-80) e guarnizione in butyl mastic highly adhesive reinforced with polyester mesh inside to ensure great shape stability and resistance to temperature changes. No welding is required in the various stages of assembling the structure (self-supporting). The color of the sheet metal type Magnelis® is RAL 9006.

WATER BASIN

The basin section is constructed of thick Magnelis® ZM310 sheet metal and is equipped with removable AISI 304L anti-cavitation filter (protecting the secondary circuit pump) and water make-up valve with brass/stainless steel body and stainless steel or polypropylene float ball. All machine attachments are made of galvanized steel(AISI 304L upon request). The water recirculation pump is housed outside the basin structure, with a cast iron body and IP54 motor protection rating.

HEAT EXCHANGE COIL

The standard heat exchange coil consists of smooth (optionally finned) carbon steel tubes(AISI 304L on request) of appropriate diameter and thickness and bent according to our proprietary geometry. Everything is hot-dip galvanized according to UNI EN ISO 1461:2009 to ensure perfect corrosion resistance. Then the coil is tested in accordance with the PED-CE standard.
The machines are supplied with the coil pre-loaded with nitrogen at a pressure of 3 bar.

WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Water is evenly distributed by a piping system inside the machine made of PVC with sheet metal distribution box Magnelis®. The nozzles are non-clogging type, medium and large diameter, made of ABS and easily replaced in case of maintenance.
The piping connecting the recirculation pump with the indoor ramp is PVC, easily removable for circuit cleaning, in accordance with the latest sanitary regulations (anti-legionella).

VENTILATION SYSTEM

(MOTORS + FANS)

The fan part is placed along one side of the basin section, on this wall the 2 rows of electric fans complete with diffusers and protection nets are fixed. The axial fan is made of sickle-shaped aluminum blades with high efficiency and low noise. The fan protection mesh will be made of painted steel.

The EC axial fans with bi-frequency motor and variable speed are adjustable from 0 to 100% with external signal, while the high efficiency due to permanent magnets and electronic control makes them comply with the ERP Directive. The motors comply with EU Regulation 2019/1781. The power, control, regulation and alarm terminals are enclosed in the terminal block of the electric motor.

DRIFT ELIMINATORS

The drip eliminators are made of PVC(PP upon request) and divided into several sections for easy removal when replacing or inspecting the ventilation and water distribution system. The drip eliminators used allow 0.001% of the drips present at the inlet to pass through, eliminating water leaks and potential drifts that could contain Legionella bacteria.

TEST

All components are supplied assembled, before delivery, it is hydraulically tested to ensure that there is no water leakage in the tank, and electric ally tested to verify that the electric motors have absorption in line with the nameplate data.
