In a context where energy efficiency and sustainability are increasingly central, companies operating in the food sector are facing major challenges in renewing their plants. This is the case of a major company in the province of Modena, which chose the CAPX evaporative condenser to replace an obsolete 1993 plant.
Increasing efficiency and adapting to new climate scenarios
The client was operating with an 800 kW condenser, which was no longer adequate for current needs, especially in summer, when the actual TBU is now well above the 24°C predicted by the old design. In addition, energy costs were high and maintenance complicated.
The CAPX solution
W-Tech installed a 1000 kW CAPX, designed to work with TBUs as low as 26°C, equipped with inverter-controlled electronic axial fans that are automatically managed according to outdoor temperature and condensing pressure.
Technology and simplified maintenance
The innovative design ensures easy access to internal components for maintenance. The structure is made of Magnelis, a corrosion-resistant material capable of working with higher cycles of water concentration, reducing water consumption.
The concrete results
One year later, the results speak for themselves:
-
Pre-existing consumption: 180,000 kWh/year → Expenditure: €28,800
-
Consumption with CAPX: 115,200 kWh/year → Expenditure: €18,500
-
Net annual savings: €10,000
-
Power input at full load: only 17.6 kW (vs. 30 kW previously)
Operational benefits
-
IE5 motors with very high efficiency
-
Soft start with reduced absorption
-
Continuous adjustment vs. on/off system
-
Less noise and more environmental comfort
Conclusions
CAPX has enabled the Modena-based company to improve the efficiency of the entire plant, cut energy costs and ensure greater operational sustainability. A smart investment, amortized in less than three years.
