The heat exchange coil is the key component in closed-loop cooling units and evaporative condensers. Its reliability directly affects the durability and efficiency of the entire system.
This is why standardized construction and testing procedures have been adopted at W-Tech, in accordance with Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and under the strict supervision of the only accreditation body in Italy, ACCREDIA. Upon request, it is also possible to obtain ASME certification, guaranteeing compliance with the most stringent international standards.
Selected materials and custom design
It all starts with the selection of the best materials available on the market, combined with the application of specific calculation standards for each type of application. Quality is assured right from the design stage.
Pressure test: up to 36 bar with nitrogen
Each coil is individually tested, raised to 30 bar and immersed in water to check for leaks.
Next, the complete coil is subjected to the leak test:
- Immersion in water and pressurization with nitrogen at 36 bar
- 60 minutes of testing, monitored by LAT-certified pressure gauge
- If the pressure remains stable, the next step is taken.
Non-destructive testing and protective galvanizing
Controls continue with:
- Visual Test with luxometer
- Non-destructive testing with liquid penetrants to detect microcracks
After passing the testing, the coil is hot-dip galvanized at 450 °C. This treatment ensures its corrosion resistance even in critical environments.
Safe delivery and testing options upon request
After installation in the unit, the coil is charged with nitrogen at nearly 2 bar for final inspection and shipment.
W-Tech also allows the presence of customers or third-party organizations during testing, as well as the possibility of performing special tests upon request.
Reliability, quality and regulatory compliance-W-Tech coils are designed to last.
