How does the for export work ?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Transport Logistics Service<\/strong> W-Tech Srl | Evaporative Technology Cooler | about wood packaging is subject to the International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 | ISPM15<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is an ordering about the phytosanitary measures<\/strong><\/em> with the aim of limiting the spread of harmful organisms from one continent to another.<\/span><\/p>\n

This law is applicable to raw wood packaging over 6 mm thick<\/strong> intended for export outside the EU<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ISPM15 standard<\/strong><\/em> has become necessary with the globalization of markets, trade and the resulting risk of introducing quarantine pests associated with raw softwood and hardwood packaging material used in international trade. Consequently, the safety of personnel responsible for the order under management is also preserved. <\/span><\/p>\n

WHY?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

This measure was decided by the FAO i.e. the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and introduced through the IPPC, the International Plant Protection Convention.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

TheIPPC<\/strong> (International Plant Protection Convention), is a multilateral treaty aimed at the harmonization of standards governing imports that could have a potentially negative impact on crops and forests. Each country has its own version of the IPPC\/FAO label, and the Italian version of this standard is the FITOK certification<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

HOW to choose packaging<\/strong> <\/strong>wooden <\/strong>compliant <\/strong>in Italy?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Specifically, the legislation provides:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • To treat packaging wood with HT (high temperature) heat treatment;<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n
  • To mark compliant packaging indelibly with the appropriate ear-shaped logo.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The responsibility lies with the shipper: he or she must ensure that the packaging used complies with this standard. Phytosanitary inspectors are authorized to make verifications and checks on the application of the ISPM15 standard. If they find irregularities or non-compliance, administrative sanctions will be applied, unless the fact found does not constitute a crime. <\/span><\/p>\n

    WHO?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

    The ISPM-15 standard<\/strong><\/em> was originally approved by 118 countries, including the United States<\/strong><\/em>. Currently, 177 countries are signatories to <\/strong>the treaty. China, which has not joined the IPPC, has nonetheless adopted the provisions of ISPM-15. In Italy<\/strong><\/em>, as of July 13, 2005, the jurisdiction is with the Wood-Sughero Services Consortium, under the direct control of the Regional Phytosanitary Service (NPPO).<\/strong><\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n

    WHEN?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

    The ISPM-15 legislation was approved in March 2002, after which it was suspended in June when it was discovered that the mark with the crossed-out insect symbol was already registered. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which exercises final oversight of the treaty, protected the mark with a new symbol and reinstated the regulation in 2003. Many countries have begun implementation, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Korea, India, Mexico, New Zealand, the United States, South Africa, etc. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Following HT treatment or following the production of packaging from already treated timber, it is necessary to affix the IPPC\/FAO Mark – FITOK<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The <\/strong>companies licensed <\/strong>in Italy are subject to inspections by independent third-party entities <\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
